As a former Navy SEAL and US Marine, I am thrilled at the prospect of JD Vance serving as our next vice president. His elevation to this high office would not only mark a historic first for Marines, but it would also bring a leader with humble roots, military experience, and a profound understanding of the needs of Midwestern Americans, including Minnesotans, to the executive branch.

Marines have always put country first, often at the expense of personal recognition or partisan politics. This is one reason why we have yet to see a Marine ascend to the role of president or vice president. Our foundational leadership training emphasizes selflessness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to duty. We are taught to lead by example, prioritize the welfare of our team, and make decisions grounded in principle rather than personal gain. JD Vance embodies these values through and through.
